Areas of Interest
Prof. Cao’s research is primarily focused on the interplay between advanced hardware design and real-time/low-power machine learning applications.
His research explores custom analog/mixed-signal circuits, digital architecture, and micro-system design for machine learning acceleration and distributed intelligence. He also explores custom IC design automation with data-driven methods. These works are targeted towards next-generation internet-of-everything, tactile internet, mixed reality, and much more.
