Prof. Gadiyar’s research focuses on developing high-performance and sustainable electromechanical systems. His expertise is in the design of electric machines and the power electronics and control that enable advanced electromechanical systems. Specific research interests include:
- The design and control of high-performance rare-earth-lean and rare-earth-free electric machines and drives.
- Integrated design and optimization of electric machines, power electronic drives, mechanical loads, and control systems to achieve net system-level performance gains.
- Development of power-dense and highly efficient electric machines, drive systems, and power electronic converters.
- Design for advanced manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, to enable high-performance, sustainable, and recyclable electromechanical systems.
