Areas of Interest
Prof. Patrick Fay’s primary research interests focus on:
- design, fabrication, and characterization of microwave, millimeter-wave, and power electronic devices and circuits
- micromachining techniques for the fabrication of microwave components and packaging
- high-speed optoelectronic devices and optoelectronic integrated circuits for fiber optic telecommunications
He is a Fellow of the IEEE and serves as an IEEE Electron Devices Society Distinguished Lecturer. He has published 11 book chapters and more than 400 articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He holds seven patents.
Prof. Fay received the Department of Electrical Engineering’s Outstanding Teaching Award in 1998 and 2018 and the College of Engineering’s Outstanding Teaching Award in 2015.
